Auden Higher Primary School

Our school sits at No.191 in Banashankari 3rd Stage, right on that busy 100ft Ring Road. If you know the 7th Block in the 3rd Phase, you know how loud it can get with the trucks and cars zooming by all day long. We spend a lot of time just keeping the windows shut to block out some of the noise so we can hear ourselves talk. The building has a few floors, and climbing those stairs every day keeps us all a bit tired but moving. We have a small playground area, though it’s mostly just hard ground and a bit of shade from the neighboring buildings. The morning assembly is usually when it feels most like a school, with everyone lined up before the sun gets too high. We deal with the usual stuff like broken chalk, flickering lights in the back hallway, and trying to keep the kids from running too fast near the gate. It’s a very urban spot, so there isn’t much green around, just a lot of concrete and the sounds of the city. We’ve got some old wooden benches that have seen better days, but they still serve the purpose well enough. Most of the staff here have been around for years, so we know which floorboard creaks and which tap in the washroom needs a little extra turn to stop dripping. It’s just a normal school in a very busy part of Bangalore, nothing more than that for Auden Higher Primary School.
