About Asia Fabrication – Metals & Minerals in Bengaluru
Asia Fabrication is over at Plot No. 241 in J. P. Nagar. It is a decent sized plot but it feels small once you get all the equipment and metal in there. The neighborhood has changed a lot over the years, but we have stayed right here. Working with metal means there is always a bit of a mess, scraps on the floor and the smell of welding. It is part of the job. Most days start early before it gets too hot. We have our tools spread out across the floor. Sometimes it takes a minute to find the exact wrench you need under a pile of offcuts. We aren't really corporate types. We wear work boots and old shirts that do not mind getting dirty. People from around J. P. Nagar come by with all sorts of small jobs. We take a look and see what can be done. It is a lot of measuring and cutting. My hands are usually stained with something by the end of the shift. The shed can get a bit stuffy, so we keep the doors wide open. You can hear the sounds of the fabrication from down the street. It is just a regular workshop where things get built. No fancy posters on the walls, just a calendar and some notes scrawled on the back of old receipts. We just do the work we know how to do without making a fuss about it.
