About Ashapuri Metal – Metals & Minerals in Bengaluru
Working out of Nagarathpet 35 is a bit of a challenge some days because the lanes are so narrow. You can barely fit a bike through when the carts are moving. We deal with metal items, mostly heavy stuff that we stack up against the walls. The building is old, and you can see the wear on the floors from all the crates we slide around. It’s always a bit noisy here with the sound of metal clanking and people shouting directions to the delivery boys. My hands are usually a bit dirty from handling the stock, but that’s just part of the job. We don’t have an air conditioner, just a ceiling fan that makes a clicking noise on high speed. Usually, we are busy in the mornings getting orders ready for the trucks that wait out on the main road. I’ve lived in this city my whole life, and this neighborhood hasn’t changed much except for getting more crowded. We keep a ledger on the wooden desk to track what goes out. It’s simple, no computers needed for what we do. If a customer wants something specific, they usually just bring a sample and we see if we have it in the back room. There isn’t much space to walk around, so you have to be careful not to stub your toe on a pipe or a sheet of metal.
