Arms Consultancy. Bangalore

We call ourselves Arms Consultancy. Even though our name has Bangalore in it, we’re actually based out of Sector-7 in the Housing Board Colony in Cuttack, Orissa. It’s a bit confusing for people sometimes, but that’s just how it ended up. We’re in block A41. It’s a regular house that we turned into an office space years ago. Cuttack is a busy place, but this colony is tucked away in the CDA area. We spend most of our time looking at files and helping people with their questions. It’s mostly consultancy work, so it involves a lot of reading and writing letters. The walls are a bit plain, and they probably need a new coat of paint soon. We’ve got a couple of computers that are a few years old now, but they still work fine for what we need to do. People come by to talk about their plans and we try to give them some practical advice. We aren't a big firm with hundreds of employees. It’s just a handful of us who have been doing this for a while. We know the local shops around here pretty well. Sometimes we walk down the road to get some tiffin in the afternoon when we're hungry. It's a simple operation. We don't have a receptionist, so if the bell rings, whoever is closest to the door just gets up to see who it is. That’s just the way we like to run things. It keeps the pressure off.
