Arkay Fabsteel Systems is based over in Whitefield, at 16/255. If you know the area, you know how much it’s changed from being a quiet spot to a massive hub. We’re right in the middle of all that activity. Our workshop is where we handle a lot of steel fabrication. It’s the kind of place where you’ll hear the sound of cutting and grinding all day long. There are sparks flying and the smell of metal everywhere. We have some heavy-duty machines that take up most of the floor space. It’s not a place for someone wearing a clean suit. We’re usually in our work gear, probably with a few stains here and there. The office part is just a small room where we keep the blueprints and the invoices. It gets pretty hot inside during the summer months, but we just keep the doors open and keep working. We don't really do much in the way of advertising. Most of our work comes from people who just know we’re here in Whitefield. Sometimes things get a bit disorganized when we have multiple jobs going at once, but we eventually get everything sorted out. It’s a hands-on business and we prefer it that way. We aren't trying to be some giant corporation; we’re just a group of people who know how to work with steel and have been doing it for a long time now.
