About Anupama Leather Crafts – Fashion & Trends in Bengaluru
Our workshop is tucked away in Banashankari 2nd Stage. Specifically, we are at 139/1 near the Kadirenahalli Cross, on the 5th Cross of Teachers Colony. It’s a place where we work with leather every single day. You can smell the hides as soon as you step inside the door. We make all sorts of things like belts, bags, and small leather goods. We have these old sewing machines that make a lot of noise, and the sound of hammers hitting the leather is pretty constant during the day. It’s a messy process with bits of leather scraps all over the floor, but we try to sweep up at the end of the day. We are a small group of people who just like working with our hands. We don’t have a retail store with glass cases. Most of our work is done on the benches where we cut and stitch everything ourselves. Sometimes we get custom orders from people in the colony who want a specific bag repaired or a new belt made to size. It’s slow work because you can't rush leather or you'll ruin the piece. We've been in this spot for a bit, and we like the neighborhood. It’s quiet enough away from the main road that we can focus on the fine details of the stitching. It's just honest craft work without any big brand names or expensive packaging. We have piles of different leathers in the corner.
