Our shop is right in the middle of Chickpet on Otc Road, near Balepet Circle. The building number is 553. If you’ve ever been to Chickpet, you know how crowded and hectic it is. The lanes are very narrow and there are people, carts, and bikes everywhere you look. We sell general items, a bit of everything really. We have shelves packed with household goods, stationery, and small daily essentials. It’s a small space, so we have to use every inch of the walls for storage. Things are piled up high toward the ceiling. We’ve been in this spot for a very long time now. It’s a family-run kind of thing. We know the other shop owners and the people who have lived in these streets for decades. It gets very loud with all the shouting and the traffic outside, but you stop noticing the noise after a while. We don't have fancy lights or any air conditioning. Just a few old fans and the front door stays open to the street. Sometimes we can't find something right away because it’s buried under a new shipment that just arrived. We just keep looking until we find it for the customer. People are usually patient because they know how it is in this area. We handle cash, write out bills by hand, and try to keep things moving. It’s a simple life. We start early and by the time we close, the streets are finally quiet.
