Akay Exports sits right there in Ranka Court on Cambridge Road. If you know Ulsoor, you know it can get pretty lively. Being at number 211 puts us in the middle of everything. The office isn't anything special to look at. We have some old wooden desks and a few filing cabinets that don't always shut right. Shipping things out takes up most of our energy. There's always a lot of tape and cardboard lying around. I usually come in early to beat the worst of the traffic, but even then, the road is never really empty. We’ve been here for a good stretch of time now. The ceiling fan in the main room makes a clicking noise that you eventually stop hearing. We don't spend money on fancy rugs or art for the walls. We’d rather just get the exports moving. The guys from the other units in Ranka Court stop by sometimes to complain about the heat or the rain. It’s that kind of place. We handle a lot of logistics which means things go wrong sometimes. A truck is late or a document is missing a stamp. You just deal with it and move on to the next task. It’s honest work and it keeps us on our toes. We don’t have big speeches about what we do. We just do it. There is no point in making it sound more complicated than it really is.
