Abhirami Tent House

You can find us in Basavanagar at number 20/2. We’ve been running this tent house for quite a few years now. It’s the kind of business where you’re always thinking about the weather. If it looks like rain, we’re out there making sure everything is covered up. We have stacks of chairs, wooden tables, and big rolls of colorful cloth piled up in the storage area. It’s a lot of manual labor, loading and unloading the truck every single day. My cousins help me out with the heavy lifting. We mostly do local events, like small prayers at someone’s house or a birthday party in the street. Basavanagar is a tight-knit place, so we know most of the families around here. Our equipment isn’t the newest, but we keep it clean and it does the job. Sometimes the fabric gets a small tear and we have to sew it up by hand in the evenings. It’s not a glamorous job. You get dusty and tired, and your hands get rough from the ropes and metal. But there’s a certain satisfaction in seeing a bare ground turn into a place for a party in just a couple of hours. We don’t do any big advertising. People just know our address and they come by when they have something planned. We’re usually around from early morning, making sure everything is ready for the day’s deliveries.
