A K R Parcel Service is located under Panthalpalya in Bangalore City, at number 41528. Being under the area means we are right where the action is, but it also means it gets very loud with the traffic overhead. Our space is basically a big warehouse area where boxes of all sizes are stacked up waiting to go somewhere. There is a constant smell of packing tape and cardboard. We don’t have air conditioning, so the big shutters are always open to let the breeze in, along with all the street noise. Our staff is usually busy loading or unloading trucks, and the floor is always covered in scuff marks from the heavy crates. We don’t have a fancy reception desk. If someone comes in to send a parcel, they just talk to whoever is nearest the front with a clipboard. It’s a simple operation. We track things with pens and paper as much as we do with computers. The rainy season is the hardest because we have to be so careful about keeping everything dry while we move it. We’ve been doing this for a long time, and we know the roads of Bangalore like the back of our hands. It isn't a pretty job, and our clothes usually have a bit of dirt on them by noon, but we make sure the packages get delivered.
