Podar International School is right on Airport Road in the Gandhi Nagar area of Belgaum. Our address is Rs No. 1139/1 to 1139/3. Being on the main road means there is always a lot of noise from the cars and buses passing by. We are right in the middle of a very busy part of town. The school gates open early in the morning, and that is when the real work starts. We have students coming in from all over Belgaum. The building itself is quite big, but we still find ourselves running out of space for all the notebooks and supplies we keep. The staff room is always a bit crowded during the lunch break. We sit there and talk about the kids or what we are planning for dinner. We don’t have any fancy corporate culture here. It is just a group of teachers and workers trying to get through the school year. Sometimes the rain in Belgaum makes everything a bit muddy, and we have to spend extra time cleaning the floors. We just deal with it. The classes are usually full, and there is always something that needs fixing, like a broken chair or a leaky tap. We don’t make a big deal out of it. We just show up, do the teaching, and make sure the kids get home safely on their buses. It is a practical place for learning that serves our local community.
