Sardar High School sits right in the middle of Khade Bazar in Belagavi. If you know the area, you know how crowded Raviwar Peth gets, especially on market days. Our school is an old building that has seen many generations of kids come through. The classrooms have those high ceilings and the wooden benches are a bit scratched up from years of use. In the mornings, you can hear the chatter of students long before the first bell rings. We are located near Autonagar, so there is always some noise from the street, but we don't mind it much anymore. The teachers here have been around for a long time. They know the families in the neighborhood. We don't have a huge campus with lots of grass, but there is enough room for the kids to run around during the lunch break. Sometimes the dust from the road blows in, but that is just part of being in this part of town. The school office is usually cluttered with old registers and files. We keep things simple here. There are no fancy gadgets in every room, just chalkboards and teachers who show up every day to do their work. It’s a local place for local families. Most of the kids walk to school from the nearby streets. It feels like a small community inside these walls, even when the market outside is loud and chaotic. There is always a bit of a rush at the gate when the final bell rings.
