Swamikrupa Organic Farmer Producer Company Limited

Our little group operates out of Kalpank House on Ambajogai Road. It is actually at Baburao Godbharle’s place, which is House Number 1-3-215/6 in the Muktainagar neighborhood. We are just a bunch of local farmers who finally decided to get organized under the Swamikrupa Organic Farmer Producer Company Limited name. Around here, organic farming is what we do mostly. It takes a lot more patience than the old ways with all the chemicals, but the ground seems much healthier for it in the long run. We meet up at the house to discuss the crops and who is going to be planting what for the coming season. It gets a bit crowded in the front room when everyone shows up at once, but we always make it work with some tea. Living and working along Ambajogai Road keeps us pretty busy since there is always movement and people passing by. We aren’t some big corporation with people in suits. Most of us have dirt under our fingernails most of the week. We wanted to make sure our families have a real future in farming, so we started this producer company. It helps us get slightly better prices and share the expensive tools we all need. Sometimes the weather doesn't cooperate at all, or the pests get into the organic patches, but that’s just part of the daily job. We share what we know and help the younger guys get started. It is a local thing, kept very simple and honest.
