Bhairavnath Organic Farmer Producer Company Limited

Bhairavnath Organic Farmer Producer Company Limited is based out of Undri, which is a small village in the Kaij area of Beed district. We are set up at Shri Bhagwat Digambar Thombare’s place. It is a very local operation through and through. We don’t have a big sign or anything like that to show off. Most of the people involved are farmers from around the Beed area. We get together to manage our organic produce and share the costs. Kaij is a bit far out from the main cities, so it’s a lot of work to get everything organized and sent to the bigger markets. The office is just a simple room where we keep our records and meet to talk about the crops. There’s usually some hot tea being shared and a lot of talk about the weather and the quality of the soil this year. It’s not a high-pressure environment, but we work really hard when the harvest time finally comes. Being in a place like Undri means everybody knows what everybody else is doing, so there are no secrets. We started this because we needed a way to work as a group instead of alone. It’s a struggle sometimes with the dry spells they get in Beed, but we manage by sticking together. We aren't looking to become some giant company with city offices. We just want to keep our farming traditions going using organic ways. It’s a basic, honest living for all of us here in the village.
