Agrawal Stone Industries

Bheemnagar is a place where people work hard, and our stone yard fits right in. We don't have a fancy street address with a bunch of numbers, just Agrawal Stone Industries here in the middle of it. The ground is mostly dirt and stone chips, so it gets pretty muddy when the monsoon rains hit. We have a few big machines for moving the larger pieces, but a lot of it is still done by hand or with simple tools. The stone comes in from the quarries nearby and we spend the day sorting through it. Some pieces are good for building walls, and others are better for smaller decorative jobs. We don't have a polished office; it's mostly just a tin roof over some benches where we sit and talk to customers. There's always a thin layer of grey dust on everything, including the old radio we keep playing in the background. We know most of the truck drivers by name because they come through here so often. It's a basic operation, really. We don't use big words or try to act like we're something we're not. We just have stone, and if you need some, you come talk to us. The work is tiring and your clothes get ruined pretty fast, but it’s what we know how to do here in Bheemnagar. Some days the sun is just brutal, but we keep the water jug filled.
