Tero Parbon Women Beauty Saloon

Our little spot is over in Shantinagar, right on S B Road in Barrackpore. If you know where P N Das College is, then you’ve probably seen us because we are directly opposite the main gate. Tero Parbon Women Beauty Saloon is mostly for the local women and the students who need a quick fix between their classes. It’s not a big corporate chain or anything like that, just a simple saloon where you can sit down and relax for a bit while we work. The name means thirteen festivals, which fits because it feels like there’s always something happening in this part of Kolkata. We do a lot of threading and basic skincare because that’s what most people are looking for on a daily basis. Sometimes the street gets really noisy with the traffic going towards Palta, but inside it’s usually just the sound of the fans and some gossip. We’ve been at this address for a while now and we know most of the faces that walk by. It’s a small shop, so things can get a bit cramped when three or four people show up at once, but we manage. We don't use a lot of fancy words to describe what we do. It’s just honest work for the ladies in the area. We open early enough and stay until the sun goes down and the college crowd thins out. It's just a regular part of the neighborhood where people feel okay.
