Banti Babli Saloon

We are located right near Titagarh Station in Kolkata, specifically on Station Road. It is a very busy spot because of all the people coming and going from the trains all day long. The shop itself is not very large, just enough for a few chairs and a small bench for people to wait. We have been here for a good while now and have seen the neighborhood change quite a bit. My brother and I run the place and we mostly do simple haircuts and shaves for the local men and boys. It gets really loud outside with the trains and the vendors, but inside we just focus on the work. The mirrors are a bit old and the paint on the walls is peeling in some corners, but it’s a clean enough place for a quick trim. We don’t really do anything fancy like those big salons in the city. Most of our customers are regulars who work at the mills or travel by train every day. They come in, talk about the football scores or the weather, and then head home. We don’t take appointments or anything like that. You just walk in and if there’s a chair free, you sit down. If not, you wait a few minutes on the bench. It is a simple life and a simple business. We try to keep the prices low so everyone can afford it. That is just how we do things here.
