Apsara Ladies Beauty Parlour

Our place, Apsara Ladies Beauty Parlour, is located in Nimta, right on M B Road here in Kolkata. We’ve been running this little shop for a while now, tucked away in the 700049 area. It’s a small space, nothing too grand, just enough for a few chairs and some basic equipment for threading and hair cutting. The street outside is usually busy with people heading to work or doing their grocery shopping, and we get a lot of local ladies stopping by. Sometimes they come in for a quick eyebrow threading and end up staying for a chat about things going on in the neighborhood. We have a couple of mirrors on the walls and some shelves where we keep the creams and combs we use. The lighting isn't the brightest, but we make it work. On humid Kolkata afternoons, the fan is always running at full speed to keep things comfortable. It feels more like a small meeting spot for the women living around Nimta than a formal business. We don't really do anything fancy or complicated. If someone needs a simple haircut or a facial before a family function, they just walk in. It’s a bit cramped when three or four people are waiting, but everyone is patient. We just try to do our work quietly and keep our regulars happy. It’s just a regular part of life on M B Road for us, and we are fine with that simple routine.
