Eye Catchers Ladies Beauty Parlour is tucked away on P N Chatterjee Street in Kolkata. We are number 7, right near the Buro Shivtala Mandir. It’s a narrow street, typical for this part of the city. The parlour is a place where local ladies come for their regular beauty needs. We do threading, waxing, and hair cuts. The space inside is cozy, maybe a bit cramped when we have three or four people waiting. I’ve tried to make it look nice with some curtains and some pictures on the wall. It’s not like those big malls with the bright lights. It feels more like home here. We use simple products that everyone is comfortable with. The smell of rose water and hair spray is always in the air. Sometimes the street outside is so noisy with rickshaws and people talking, but once you’re inside, it’s a bit calmer. I know most of my customers by their first names. We talk about the markets and what we’re cooking for dinner. It’s a humble business. My scissors are old but I keep them sharp. If you’re looking for a fancy spa experience, this isn't it. But if you want a decent haircut or your eyebrows shaped by someone who knows what they're doing, you can find me near the mandir. I keep a stack of old fashion magazines for people to look at. The chair for pedicures is a bit wobbly, so I tell everyone to sit carefully.
