My name is Amitava Saha and I’m located at 1, Olaichanditala 2nd Lane in Nimta, Kolkata 700049. I’ve lived in Nimta for a long time. It’s one of those parts of Kolkata where the lanes are narrow and you can hear your neighbors talking through the windows. My office is basically a room in my house that I’ve converted so I can have a quiet place to work. It’s not always quiet though, because there’s always something happening on the street outside. I don't have a secretary or anyone to answer the phones. When people call, they get me. I handle everything from the cleaning to the actual work. I think people like that I’m local and that I don’t act like a big shot. I’ve lived on Olaichanditala 2nd Lane for most of my adult life, so I know the shopkeepers and the rickshaw pullers around here. My work isn't anything glamorous. I just provide a service that people need and I try to do it without making any fuss. I’m not interested in expanding into some giant company. I like being small and manageable. Sometimes the power goes out or the rain floods the lane, and we just wait it out. That’s just life in Kolkata. I focus on getting the job done so I can spend my evenings with my family. It’s a basic, straightforward way of doing things that suits me fine.
