We are Satyagreh Jaivik Farmer Producer Company Limited, and you can find us over in Deesa. Our spot is at Keshavlal Ishwarji Padhiyardama’s place. It isn't some big corporate building with glass walls, it's just a regular place where we get together to talk about the crops. Deesa is a place where people know about farming, and we are just a group of us trying to make things work better for the local growers. We deal with the seeds and the soil every day. Sometimes the rain doesn't come when it should, or the prices for the harvest are all over the place, but that is just how it goes in this life. We started this because we felt that doing things together was better than doing them alone. Most of the time we are just busy with the paperwork or talking to the farmers who stop by to ask questions about the season. We don't have any fancy marketing people writing for us. It is just us here, making sure things move along. The office is simple and functional. We spend a lot of time on the phone or out in the fields checking on how things are growing. It’s a lot of hard work and the days are usually long, but we like being part of the community here in Deesa. We just keep our heads down and do what needs to be done without making a big fuss about it. That's just our way of working.
