Kakreji Farmers Producer Company is located over in Vada Vasan Padar, in the Kankrej area of Banaskantha. We are set up at Nareshkumar Leraji Thakor’s place. It’s a local operation run by people who actually know what it’s like to work the soil. Being a producer company, our goal is just to help the local farmers get a fair shake. Banas Kantha is a big district, and Kankrej has its own specific challenges when it comes to agriculture. We don't spend a lot of money on big offices or fancy furniture. Most of our resources go back into the farming work. We meet up to talk about what seeds to buy and how we’re going to transport our harvest to the markets. It’s a lot of coordination and sometimes things don’t go as planned. Trucks get delayed, or the weather turns bad right when we don’t need it to. But that’s part of the job. We keep our records in simple ledgers and try to make sure everything is accounted for. There are no marketing people here, just farmers and their families. We’ve been here for generations, and this company is just a way to make our work a bit more organized. It’s honest, hard work and we don't try to make it sound like anything else. We just focus on the cows, the crops, and the community. It's about getting through the day and planning for the next harvest.
