We are based out of the Baba Rice Mill in Sawangi. It’s at Plot No. 439 in Ward 18. Ravishankar Thakr is the one who runs things here. If you come by, you’ll hear the hum of the mill machines in the background. It’s a loud place, but it feels like home to us. We focus on crop science, which sounds technical, but for us, it’s just about finding better ways to grow rice and other things in the Balaghat area. We spend a lot of time looking at seeds and talking to the people who bring their harvest to the mill. The office is small and usually smells like fresh grain. We don’t have a fancy lobby or a receptionist. You just walk in and find Ravishankar or one of the guys. We’ve been here for a while and have seen the seasons change many times. Sometimes the mill needs repairs and everything stops for a day, but that’s just part of the business. We try to help the local farmers get the most out of their land. It’s not about big profits for us; it’s about keeping the mill going and the crops healthy. The roads in Sawangi can be a bit rough after the monsoon, so we don't get many visitors from outside the village. We like it that way. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from dawn till dusk. We don’t need any big advertisements because people around here know who we are.
