Mumbai Zaika

We are up here on the first floor of Prozone Mall. It gets really busy on weekends, especially when a big movie just ended. People come in with their shopping bags looking for something to eat. We spend most of our day in the food court kitchen. It’s hot work but we like seeing families sit down together. We've been at this spot for a while now in Aurangabad. Some people just want a quick snack while others sit for a full meal. We don't do anything fancy, just standard Mumbai-style food that fills you up. The mall has a lot of noise, but our corner stays pretty steady. We start early in the morning getting everything ready before the shutters go up. By lunchtime, the smell of our cooking starts drifting toward the escalators. It’s a lot of chopping and stirring behind the counter. Most of us have lived in Maharashtra our whole lives, so we know what people like. We try to keep things moving fast because nobody likes waiting when they are hungry. We have our regulars too, folks who work in the other shops and come by for their break. It’s just us doing what we know how to do, day in and day out. If you’re ever walking around Api Corner and feel like eating, we are usually around. It’s not a quiet place, but it's home for us.
