Mewad Family Restaurant

We are out here in Ellora, which is a bit of a drive from the main Aurangabad city. Being so close to the caves means we see people from all over the world, but we also have our local families who come in on the weekends. The restaurant is a family-run thing, and you can usually see one of us sitting near the entrance or helping out in the kitchen. We don't have a fancy menu with hundreds of items. We just make what we know how to cook well. The area around here is quite dusty, especially in the dry season, so we are always wiping down the tables. It gets very crowded during the holidays when the tourists flock to the caves. We try our best to keep up, but sometimes the service is a bit slow when every table is full. We don't have a corporate office or a manager in a suit. It’s just us. My uncle handles the money and the rest of us do the cooking and cleaning. We've been in this spot for a while and we don't plan on going anywhere. It’s a simple life, cooking food for people who are tired from walking around the temples all day. We just want people to leave with a full stomach and enough energy to get back to their buses or hotels.
