Maratha Darbar Restaurant

You can find Maratha Darbar Restaurant on Jawahar Colony Road in Aurangabad. We are located right behind Akashwani Mitra Nagar. It’s a decent neighborhood and we have been here for a long time. The building itself is quite old and doesn’t have any fancy glass windows or anything. Inside, it’s just a plain room with some tables and chairs. We don’t spend much on advertising because word of mouth usually keeps us busy enough. We start the cooking process early in the morning because some of the gravies need to simmer for hours. My brother handles the accounts and I look after the kitchen. We don't have a big fancy menu, just the dishes we know how to make well. The walls are a bit plain, maybe we will paint them next year if we have the time. We get a mix of people, from students to families who live in the colony. It gets a bit loud when the place is full, but that’s a good sign I suppose. We don't have air conditioning, so we keep the windows open to let the breeze in. Sometimes a bit of dust comes in from the road, but we wipe the tables down constantly. We buy our ingredients from the local vendors we’ve known for years. It’s a straightforward business. We aren't trying to be the biggest place in town, just a reliable one where you can get a hot meal every day.
