About Indian Harvesters – Industrial Plant & Machines in Aurangabad
W-17 in the MIDC area of Chikalthana is where we do our work. This is the Aurangabad Industrial Area, so you can imagine it is full of sheds and factories of all sizes. Indian Harvesters operates out of a large workshop space here. It’s a metal-roofed building, so it gets pretty loud when it rains and quite hot when the sun is out in the middle of the day. We have various pieces of equipment spread across the floor. There is a lot of welding and cutting that goes on here. You can usually see sparks flying in one corner or another. We don't have fancy office furniture; it’s mostly just metal stools and heavy wooden benches that can take a beating. The workers here know their way around the machines and they have been doing this for years. We keep a logbook near the entrance to track what’s coming in and going out. The MIDC roads are always busy with tempos and trucks moving goods. We usually start our shift early in the morning before the heat gets too bad. By the time evening comes, everyone is tired and covered in a bit of soot or oil. We lock up the big gates at W-17 and head home. It’s a tough environment but it’s where we feel at home. There is always something that needs fixing or building, and we just get on with it day after day.
