Alcon Laboratories

Our place, Alcon Laboratories, is located at C-129 in the MIDC Waluj area. If you’ve ever been to Waluj, you know it’s a big industrial hub. Our building is a simple structure that fits right in with the others on the block. Inside, things are kept fairly orderly because of the nature of lab work. We have to be careful about where things are placed. It isn't a high-fashion environment; we all wear practical clothes and focus on the testing and data. Sometimes the lab feels a bit cold because of the air conditioning, but it's necessary for the equipment. We've got a small break room where we eat lunch and talk about nothing in particular. It’s a long day sometimes, especially when a series of tests takes longer than expected. We don't have a fancy entrance with a receptionist. You usually just walk in and find someone in a lab coat. We’ve been operating out of this MIDC spot for a while now. The road outside can get quite dusty with all the trucks passing by. We aren't trying to be the biggest lab out there, just one that does its job without any fuss. It’s a routine we’ve built up over the years. We just focus on the samples and the reports and try to get home on time. Most of the time, the hum of the machines is the only thing you hear in the halls. We take turns making the morning coffee.
