INDIAN HARVESTERS

We’re located at Plot No W-17 in the MIDC Industrial Area in Chikalthana. It’s a big space because the stuff we work on is quite large. We deal with harvesters and agricultural gear. Most days involve a lot of heavy grease and big wrenches. You can’t really do this job and keep your clothes clean. We spend a lot of time looking at gearboxes and cutting blades. Farmers come by often to talk about what’s working in the fields and what isn't. We listen to them because they are the ones actually using the machines in the dirt and heat. Our workshop has high ceilings and plenty of light, which helps when we’re trying to weld something precisely. It gets loud when the grinders are going. We don't have a marketing department or anyone to write fancy letters. We just focus on the iron and the engines. Sometimes the parts take a while to arrive from the suppliers, and we have to explain that to the guys waiting on their equipment. We try to be fair and just do the work we promised. There’s a lot of pride in seeing one of our machines heading out on a trailer, ready for the harvest season. It’s hard work, especially when the weather is hot, but it’s what we know how to do. We just keep the tools sharp and the floor moving every day without making too much of a fuss about it.
