Free Bricks

We are located out in Jotejanki, which is near Topsi in the Raniganj area. People often ask about the name Free Bricks and we have to tell them that the bricks aren't actually free. It’s just a name that’s been around since the start, and we haven't seen a reason to change it now. The yard is quite open to the elements, so when it rains, the ground gets incredibly muddy and soft. We spend a lot of time moving things around to keep the bricks from sinking into the dirt. It’s a quiet spot compared to the center of Raniganj, which I personally prefer. Most of our days are spent out in the sun, checking the stacks and making sure the counts are right. We don't have a website or any fancy advertisements. Usually, people just hear about us from their neighbors or see our trucks out on the road. It’s hard work, lifting and stacking all day, and my back definitely feels it by the time evening rolls around. We keep a small kettle in the back for making tea when there’s a break in the work. It’s a simple life and a simple business. We don't try to be anything we're not. We just provide bricks to whoever needs them for their building projects. If you’re coming out this way, just follow the road toward Topsi and you’ll see our piles of bricks soon enough. It’s a bit of a drive, but we're always here.
