Ashrafi Transport

Ashrafi Transport is based on Sen Raleigh Road out here in Burdwan. It’s a busy stretch of road, and we’ve been part of the landscape here for a good long time. Our setup is pretty basic, just a place to park the vehicles and a small office where we keep track of the routes and the fuel logs. It’s a family-run kind of feel, even on the days when things get stressful. You won’t find any corporate slogans on the walls, just some old calendars and a lot of keys hanging by the door. The road outside can get quite crowded, especially during the peak hours, which makes timing our trips a bit of a challenge. We spend a lot of time talking to drivers and making sure the trucks are in decent shape for the next haul. It’s mostly about the logistics of getting things from one point to another without too much fuss. Sometimes the office gets a bit messy with all the delivery slips, but we know where everything is. We like being in Burdwan; it’s a place where people still know each other's names. Most of our work comes from word of mouth around the district. We just open up early, check the tires, and get the day started like everyone else on this road. It’s a simple life but it keeps us busy.
