Narmada Valley Rubbers Pvt. Ltd. is located right on Plot No. C1B-1040, 1041, and L-1040-9 inside the Gidc Ind Estate. It's a big enough spot for what we do on a daily basis. Mostly we handle rubber parts and various items like that. The heat in the estate gets pretty bad during the summer months, so we keep the big industrial fans going all day. There are about fifteen of us working here right now. We started out with just one small room and then eventually expanded into the next plots as we got busier. It’s a lot of manual work, getting the molds ready and checking over the batches. The floor is always a bit messy with scraps, but we try to clean up every Friday before heading home for the weekend. My dad used to run a shop very similar to this one, so I grew up around the smell of burnt rubber. It doesn't even bother me anymore. We get the raw materials delivered on Mondays usually. The trucks have a hard time turning in the narrow lane outside sometimes, which causes a bit of a stir with the neighbors. We just keep our heads down and finish the orders on time. It’s a decent life here in the industrial area. Nothing too exciting ever happens, but we like the routine. The machines are getting old but they work for what we need. It is just a shop.
