You can find us out in the GIDC industrial area. We are located at L 1040/9, in the C1b section, occupying sheds 1040 and 1041. It is a massive place with lots of similar-looking buildings, so it can be a bit of a maze if you aren’t used to it. We spend our days working with rubber, which has a very specific smell that stays with you even after you go home. The sheds get quite hot during the day, especially under the metal roofing, but that is just how industrial work is. We have stacks of raw material and crates of finished products taking up most of the floor space. Moving things around with the manual pallet jack is a constant task for us. Our office is just a small partitioned corner with a couple of old fans and some metal cabinets for the paperwork. We don't have any big slogans or mission statements stuck on the walls. We just focus on the production schedule and try to make sure everything is packed and ready for the transport trucks. Sometimes a machine breaks down or a shipment is delayed, and we have to stay late to sort it out. It isn't a glamorous job by any means, but it keeps us busy and the work is steady. We have a few local workers who have been with us since we started. We just keep our heads down and get the production done.
