We’ve been operating Allied Chemicals out of Plot No. A-1, 7309 for a long time. It’s a busy spot. You can usually tell when you’re close by the smell of the stuff we work with, though we don’t notice it much anymore. The drums are stacked up in the yard and we spend a lot of time moving them around with the old forklift. It’s a simple setup we’ve got here. Not much for decoration, just some sturdy benches and a lot of pipes. We keep a close eye on the temperatures and the mixes because that’s the main part of the job. It can get pretty repetitive, pouring and measuring and checking labels, but it has to be done right. Lunch breaks are usually taken sitting on some crates in the shade if the weather is nice. We talk about family or what happened on the news. There’s a lot of paperwork involved with chemicals, so someone is always stuck at the small desk in the corner filling out forms for the government. It’s just a regular local business. We aren't trying to change the world, just making sure our orders go out on time and the floor stays as clean as a chemical plant can stay. Most of the neighbors around A-1 know us by now. We’ve seen a lot of businesses come and go, but we just keep doing our thing and paying our taxes. Everything is pretty standard for an industrial zone.
