Out here on the Kotada-Anjar Road, the wind carries a lot of dust. Manaksia Coated Metals & Industries Ltd is situated near Chandrani, and it’s a big, open area. We spend our days watching the big coils of metal come in on flatbed trucks. The machines are massive and they make a constant humming sound that stays in your ears long after you go home. Anjar is a dry place, and the sun really beats down on the roof of the factory. We wear heavy boots and safety gear all day, which gets uncomfortable in the summer months. There is always a lot of movement. Forklifts driving back and forth, workers checking the coating thickness, and the sound of metal sliding against metal. It’s not a quiet office job. We eat our lunch in a small breakroom that’s the only place with decent air. Sometimes the road outside gets blocked with trucks, and we have to help coordinate the traffic just to get our own supplies in. We don't have any fancy decorations on the walls. It’s all practical stuff—tools, charts, and spare parts. The metal sheets we produce go out to all kinds of places, but here in Chandrani, it’s just a lot of hard work and keeping the lines running without any breakdowns. It’s a long day, but seeing the finished stacks ready for shipping feels like a job done right. We just focus on the task at hand.
