Jayshree Shyam Fabrication

We are located right on the Main Road in Navagam village which is under the Madhapar post office in Anjar. Being out here in the Kachchh district means the wind blows a lot of dust into the shop almost every day. Jayshree Shyam Fabrication is where we spend most of our waking hours. We work with iron rods and heavy sheets to make whatever people in the village might need for their homes. Sometimes it is farm equipment that needs a repair and other times it is frames for new houses being built. The welding machine hums all day long and the blue light from the arc flashes against the walls. It is tough work on the eyes and the hands but it is our livelihood. We don't have a big team or a corporate structure. It is just a few of us getting through the orders one by one. The village is quiet most of the time except for the traffic on the main road. We keep our tools organized as best as we can but things always seem to wander off when we are busy. There is a small tea stall nearby where we go for short breaks when the heat gets to be too much. We aren't trying to be the biggest shop around. We just want to finish the work that is in front of us and make sure it holds together. That is life here in Navagam village.
