Sachin Steels

Sachin Steels is located at unit 602/4 inside the GIDC Estate. If you know the area, you know it’s a busy spot with trucks coming and going at all hours. We deal with steel, so the yard is always full of heavy materials. It’s a tough environment, loud and metallic. We wear our boots and gear every day because that's what the job requires. The crew here is hardworking. We don't have a fancy showroom. Most of the space is taken up by the stock and the equipment we use to move it around. It’s a practical setup. We started this because we knew the steel business and wanted to run our own small shop. Some days are longer than others, especially when a big shipment arrives late. We just get on with it. There’s a small desk in the corner where we keep the invoices and the phone, but most of the time we’re out on the floor. The GIDC is a good place for a business like ours because everything we need is nearby. We’ve made some good friends with the neighbors over the years. We don’t talk much about goals or plans, we just make sure the orders go out and the steel is what it needs to be. It’s a simple way to earn a living and we’re used to the grit of it. Sometimes we have to hunt for a specific piece of scrap in the pile, which can take all morning. It’s hard work, but it keeps us busy.
