We are over here in Petald, right by the Tower Road. It is usually pretty busy around Bhaichakla. Mid India Power And Steel Ltd. has been operating out of this spot in the Anand district for a bit now. Most days are just about keeping the machines running and making sure the steel gets handled right. It’s not a fancy place, just a regular workshop where we deal with power and metal stuff. Sometimes the traffic on the road makes it hard for the trucks to get in, but we manage. People know where to find us if they need something done. We don't have a big office with air conditioning or anything like that. It’s mostly just dust and hard work. My hands are usually dirty by noon. We’ve seen the neighborhood change a lot over the years. Some shops closed, others opened. But we stay here doing our thing. It gets really hot in the summer, especially near the furnaces. You just get used to the noise after a while. If you’re passing by the tower, you’ll probably hear the clanking. We try to keep things organized, but in a steel yard, that’s easier said than done. Most of the guys live nearby, so we all know each other well. It’s a decent place to work if you don't mind the heavy lifting. We just focus on getting the day's tasks finished before it gets too dark outside.
