Hare Krishna Foundry

Being at 210 in the G.I.D.C. Industrial Estate means we are right across from the main G.I.D.C. office here in Vitthal Udyog Nagar. It’s a good spot because everyone knows where that office is, so we never have to give complicated directions. Hare Krishna Foundry is a place where things are constantly being heated and shaped. The furnaces are the heart of the whole operation. It gets very hot, especially when the afternoon sun hits the metal roof of the estate. We’ve been here long enough that the noise of the machinery just feels like background music to us now. The floor is mostly sand and dark dust, which is just part of how a foundry works. We don't have a lot of office space, just a small corner where we keep the books and handle the paperwork. Most of our time is spent on the floor, checking the molds and making sure the pours go right. There’s a certain rhythm to the work that you only get after years of doing it. We have a few tea breaks during the day where everyone gathers around and talks about things other than work. It keeps the mood light despite the heavy labor. We don't use fancy words to describe what we do; we just melt metal and make parts. It’s honest work that keeps us busy every single day.
