We’ve been here at 289, Mint Street for a long time now. If you know this part of the city, you know how crowded it gets with all the carts and people moving around. Our shop is just one of many, but we focus on stainless steel stuff. Most days it’s just us handling piles of utensils or sheets, making sure everything is counted right. It’s a bit noisy outside, but we’re used to it. The walls here have seen a lot of seasons. We don’t have fancy chairs or a big reception area, just some old desks and the smell of metal. Usually, customers come in looking for something specific for their kitchens or small businesses. We just show them what we have on the shelves. Sometimes the delivery trucks get stuck in the narrow lane, so we have to wait. It’s just how things work in this market. We drink a lot of tea while waiting for the next load to arrive. It isn't a glamorous job, but it’s what we do. We try to keep things organized, even though the space is tight. You learn to find things even in the back corners where the light is dim. It’s basically just hard work and being here every morning when the shutters go up. We don't really do big ads or anything like that. People just find us by the address.
