Satbara Farmers Producer Company Limited is located at Anand Plaza-2, near the Rajapeth bus stop. It is House Number 8. Being near the bus stop means there is always a lot of noise and people moving around, which actually makes it a convenient spot for farmers coming in from the outskirts. We chose the name Satbara because every farmer knows what that means—it’s about the land records and our connection to the soil. We aren’t a big corporate entity. We are just a bunch of guys who know how to grow things but wanted to learn how to sell them better. Our office is pretty basic. We have some desks, a few computers that are a bit slow, and a lot of paper everywhere. We spend our mornings checking the prices and our afternoons talking to the people who grow the food. It’s a lot of back and forth. Some days are stressful when the market drops, but we just stick together. We don’t use any fancy talk or marketing tricks. We just tell it like it is. If the crop is good, we say so. If the price is bad, we figure out a way to wait it out. It’s a practical business run by people who aren't afraid to get their hands dirty. The heat in the plaza can be tough in the summer months, but we have a small cooler and we make do. We are just a group of friends and neighbors.
