Pearl Enterprise

Working at Plot No. F-2 in the GIDC area of Vidyanagar means you get used to the industrial smells and sounds pretty quick. Pearl Enterprise is tucked away in Shri Hari Estate. It’s a busy place with trucks coming in and out all day long. We are right near Enox Ghar Ghanti, which is how most people find us if they get lost. The office is just a small part of the warehouse. I usually start the day by opening the big shutters and letting some air in. It gets stuffy in the afternoons when the Gujarat sun is beating down on the roof. I’ve got an old fan that makes a clicking noise, but it works fine for now. We handle a lot of boxes and paperwork here. It isn't a glamorous job, but it’s steady. Most of the guys in the neighboring plots have been here as long as we have. We grab lunch at the small canteen down the street. It’s a practical location for what we do. We don't have a fancy showroom. Everything is about the work and making sure the orders are ready on time. By the time I lock up the gate in the evening, the whole estate is starting to quiet down. It’s a good feeling to finish a day’s work and head home. We just keep our heads down and do what needs doing here in Vidyanagar.
