Mangesh Garje is usually the one you’ll see around here keeping things in order. It’s more of a local hub for the cement work we do in this region. The office is really just a simple room with the essentials. We don't spend money on decorations or expensive furniture because that's not what we're about. It’s mostly about making sure the trucks are going where they need to go. The dusty air of the city sometimes makes its way inside, so we are always cleaning off the desks. Working here feels very local. We know the people living in the surrounding houses and they know us. Sometimes someone’s dog wanders in, or we spend a few minutes talking to a neighbor about the weather. It’s not the kind of place where people wear suits. Most of us are in plain clothes, ready to head out to a site if needed. We handle the orders and keep the local supply moving. It’s steady work. Bijapur has its own pace, and we definitely follow that. Nothing happens too fast, but everything gets finished eventually. We take our breaks under the shade outside when it gets too stuffy. It’s a humble spot but it serves its purpose for the company just fine.
