In Kanbha, things move at their own pace. We are over near Vadchetakpura, right at Prabhatbhai Babarbhai Padhiyar’s place. It’s a group of us who have lived in Borsad for our whole lives. We decided to put this company together because we needed a better way to handle our farming business. It’s not a big operation with a bunch of managers. It is just us, the local farmers, trying to make sense of the market. Most days involve someone dropping by to chat about the soil or why the water pump isn't working right. We spend a lot of time outside, so the office is mostly for keeping the books straight. Kanbha is a small spot, so word travels fast when something is happening. We don't use big words or fancy plans. We just look at what we’ve grown and try to find the best way to get it sold. It gets dusty out here, and the summer heat is no joke, but we’re used to it. Being a producer company means we share the load. If one person has a problem, we usually talk it out over some chai. It is basic, honest work. No one is trying to get rich quick, we just want to make sure the families here can keep their farms going. That is really the whole story of what we do every day.
