Suresh General Store

Suresh General Store is located right in Idh Market, which is very close to the main bus stand in Amritsar. Because of that, there is always a lot of noise and people running around outside. I’ve been sitting in shop twenty-three for years, watching travelers rush to catch their buses while locals stop in for their daily milk or bread. It gets very dusty with all the traffic, and I spend half my time just wiping down the glass jars. The shop is small and crowded with bags of flour and containers of pulse, but somehow we fit it all in. I don’t have any fancy signs or lights, just the stuff people actually need. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we have to use a torch, but that’s just how it is here. People from the market often drop by just to chat for a bit while they wait for their ride. It’s a busy life but it keeps me occupied from dawn till dusk. Most of our regulars have been coming here since they were kids, and now they bring their own children. I try to keep everything organized, though it's hard when you're dealing with hundreds of little items every day. You won't find anything high-end here, just the basics for the kitchen and the home. The location near the bus stand means I never really get a quiet moment, but I prefer it that way over a silent shop.
