We have Sodhi General Store And Beauty Parlour located in Pind Chima Bath. It's near the canal, which is a nice spot in the Po Rayia area of Amritsar. Having a store and a parlour together keeps us very busy all day long. One side has the daily goods people need for their kitchen, and the other side is for getting ready or getting a haircut. We started this in the village because people shouldn't have to go all the way into the main city for every little thing they need. The 143001 area is where we belong and where we live. It's a quiet place mostly, except when it's festival time or a wedding is happening. Being near the canal means it stays a bit cooler in the summer months. We know almost everyone in the pind by name. It’s a community thing for us. I handle the store mostly, and we have the parlour side for the ladies who live nearby. We don’t have fancy brochures or anything to show off. It's just a local business run by local people who understand the area. We’ve been at this for some time now. Some days it’s quiet and we just sit and talk with the neighbors who stop by for a chat. Other days, everybody comes at once and it gets hectic. That's how it goes in a village.
