Kerla Food Corner & Store

You will find Kerla Food Corner & Store at Shop Number 12 in E Block of Ranjit Avenue. We are very close to Anand Park, which is a nice landmark in this part of Amritsar. This is a bit of a mixed business. On one side we have some shelves stocked with items from Kerala, like specific snacks, banana chips, and certain spices that are not easy to find in local Punjabi markets. On the other side, we have a small kitchen area where we cook up some simple meals for people to take away or eat quickly. It is a small shop, so there is not a lot of room to walk around if there are more than five people inside at once. We started this because we wanted to bring a taste of the south to Amritsar. It is mostly just me and a helper running the place. We get our supplies shipped in every few weeks, so sometimes we run out of the popular items and have to wait for the next truck to arrive. The shop is quite simple with basic lighting and metal racks. We don't have any big signs, just the one above the door. People usually stop by after they have been for a walk in the park. It's a quiet little corner and we like it that way. We aren't a big supermarket or a fancy cafe. We are just a small local shop and eatery for the neighborhood.
