Our shop is number 36 right at the Goal Bagh Taxi Stand. If you walk out of the Goal Bagh side of the Amritsar railway station, you will see us right there. It is a busy spot, always full of tea stalls and people carrying heavy bags. Being at a taxi stand means there is never really a quiet moment. We are always talking to passengers, haggling a bit, or just watching the trains come in. We have a small crew and we all know each other well. The office is small and gets a bit dusty with all the traffic outside, but it works for us. We handle a lot of quick trips across town and some longer ones too. Because we are right by the station, we meet a lot of tired travelers who just want to get to their hotel. We try to be quick about getting them a car. There is no point in making things complicated with fancy talk. We just tell you which car is ready and what the cost will be. Sometimes the station gets really crowded during festival times, and then it is all hands on deck. We spend most of our time out on the pavement or sitting in the shop waiting for the next train. It is an honest living and we have been doing it this way for years. We just focus on the basics of getting people from point A to point B without any big promises.
