Sindhi General Store

Our shop, Sindhi General Store, is located at the Main Chownk right by Jailyawala Bagh and the Golden Temple in Amritsar. Because of where we are, the area is always packed with people, tourists, and devotees. It’s a very lively and sometimes noisy place to work. We sell all sorts of general items that people might need, whether they live here or are just visiting the shrine. We’ve got toiletries, small snacks, some clothes, and other daily essentials. The shop is quite old, and the shelves are made of dark wood that’s seen a lot of use. We don't have any air conditioning, so we just keep the doors open to the street. It gets dusty, but that’s part of being in the middle of Amritsar. We don't follow any corporate rules here. We just talk to the people who come in, help them find what they need, and carry on. My family has been involved with this for a long time. We know how to handle the big crowds during the festivals. It’s a lot of standing on your feet all day and moving boxes around. We don't do any big promotions or ads. People find us because we are right there near the temple. It’s just a simple, honest general store. We do our best to keep the shelves stocked with the things people ask for most frequently.
