Shingar Beauty Parlour & Art House

Shingar Beauty Parlour & Art House is tucked away in Mohalla Malkasa. We are right by the Darshani Gate in Jandiala Guru. It is an old part of the Amritsar area. I have been doing this for years now. The Art House part of the name is because we like to do more than just hair. We do some henna and some craft work too. It is a bit of a mix. People in Jandiala Guru know us as the place near Radhey Sham. It is not a very big shop, just a couple of rooms really. We have some regular ladies who come every month without fail. They sit and talk about their kids or their homes while I work. It is nice to hear the stories. The streets here are narrow so it is always a bit of a squeeze getting here, but once you are inside, it is quiet. We do not have a big staff, just me and a helper sometimes. We keep things simple and local. I do not use those expensive machines you see on the television. We do things by hand mostly. Whether it is a haircut or some art piece for a wedding, we just take our time. It has been a long journey in this mohalla. Things change outside, the shops change, but we stay pretty much the same.
